ā¦PAY WOMEN. THATāS THE MESSAGE.
As we approach Black Womenās Equal Pay Day in July, it is so important (read: critical) to continue the conversations focused on pay disparities. Women in all industries deserve to be paid equitability and we know that statistics tell us thatās not always the reality.
Weāre devoting this newsletter to be part of the solution by understanding whatās happening in sneakers + streetwear. Without a clear understanding of the current landscape, it becomes increasingly difficult to identify the specific areas where change is needed. Plus, weāre all about disruption for the good-good.
By bringing these inequities to light, we can foster greater transparency, hold companies accountable, and push for more implementation of equitable compensation practices. You ready?!
šš½ Welcome to another edition of CNKās weekly musings influenced by the state of sneaker culture.
We are here to keep it a buck with the good, the bad, and the āwhat are thoseeeeeā moments. Think of this as your dose of the extended group chat.
For all our new subscribers, a timely reminder below.
This is where sneakers merge with cool girl, you-CAN-sit-with us energy. All of that comes with a service-first mindset + sharing information + a team of people who genuinely care A LOT. If youāre here for people first and product second, youāve come to the right place.
If youāre feeling it, feel free to share and care.

š Whatās in our carts?
If weāre being honest, we are doing a mid-year budget check-in and asking ourselves ādo we REALLY need this pairā. Sometimes, itās a hard YES. However, we donāt have to feel too pressed with FOMO vibes. There are quite a bit of fly silhouettes still available and sitting on e-shelves.
On the Swoosh + Jumpman frontlines, we are checking out a few. From the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 āLime Greenā to the Air Jordan 4 āOxidized Greenā, there is something for everybody.
On the New Balance side of the house, this beautiful Made in the USA 990v6 in āVintage Roseā caught our attention for softer summer vibes.
Now that weāve shared our e-carts, itās time to jump into some deets on our Women in Sneakers and Streetwear Pay Report initiative.

š¤ Whole lottaā money⦠or nah?
Black Women's Equal Pay Day marks the point in the year when Black womenās earnings finally catch up to what white, non-Hispanic men earned in the previous year. In the sneaker and streetwear industry, where creativity + innovation + culture are at the forefront, it's crucial that we also lead the way in promoting equity and fairness.
Despite significant contributions, Black women in our industry often face pay disparities that need to be addressed. Itās time to do our part and shine a light on these issues in 2024. These small ripples can create big waves that work towards creating a more inclusive and equitable environment for us all.
CNK Daily is inviting all women working in the sneaker and streetwear industry to participate in our survey. Your voice is essential in helping us understand the challenges faced by women in our field. By taking a few minutes to complete this anonymous survey, you can contribute to a larger conversation about pay equity alongside helping us gather the insights to drive meaningful change.
š§ WHAT WILL CNK DAILY DO WITH THE DATA?
The responses collected will remain anonymous and will be used to generate valuable insights and create actionable solutions. Together, we can build even more awareness in our industry.
Your participation is not just importantāit's powerful. Let's make a difference together.

We want to send a very special THANK YOU for everyone who voted/donated for us during the Black Girl Ventures pitch competition. We are standing strong as we took first place for the audience vote, but did not place for the final round. We are sharing this experience because we believe in transparency as we grow the business and learn from this entrepreneurial journey.
We are also pushing forward with our SHOP CNK journey. If youāre new here, SHOP CNK will be a brick and mortar location in Dallas, Texas. This womenās sneaker store was born through our love of community and passion for representation. A safe space for HER. A welcomed space for him. A community space for all.
